The Series
Now is not now, now is part of a series of NOWs that will get you where you want to be. That’s why “now” is the most important moment of your life.
The problem is that NOW you are tired and NOW you don’t feel like working—but waiting until you feel like it will only delay your success.
Get into the habit of doing things now. Practice now not later. Tomorrow, or in a week, you’ll see the progress.
The Progress
Today (now) you won’t see progress. But if you want to see it eventually you have to start today (now). The hardest step is the first—getting started. Once you are moving with the current things get a bit easier. Only a bit.
A Bit
Bit by bit, drip by drip. It’s a super slow process. Musicians get desperate and want to rush the stages. We just want to be there now. But now is not now. Now is a moment. A moment where you get to put only one drop of water in the tank. That drop is crucial to fill the tank. Without that drop the tank will never be full, and you’ll need to drink the whole tank to get to the top of the mountain.
The Mountain
Now, you see the mountain with a red flag on top of it. You want to reach that flag but you look down and all you see is a difficult path. You can move one step closer if you choose to—when? Now. If you decide to wait, you don’t move toward the flag NOW. You’ll move later—perhaps never. The only thing that should remain motionless is not you, is the red flag.
The Red Flag
It’s your mountain and your path, no competition, no one in sight, just you and NOW. The red flag says your name and last name on it. It’s your duty to take a step, one at a time and you’ll get used to walking. Once you walk you’ll learn to jog and then to run. Then, you’ll have three speeds and you’ll be able to use them appropriately to keep moving closer and closer to the flag.
Now is not now, but NOW is essential to future NOWs. Future NOWs will help you get closer to your flag. It’s a long process.
Once you get to the flag the series start all over again. So there is no rush, you will do this forever.
Enjoy your pathway (learn how to!), do your best and never stop moving.
When should you start? How about NOW.
